Got into a heated argument with a friend. just tat there's something tat i'm totally disagreed upon.

I don't believe that we live FOR the others. Of course generally we need to live w/ the others, rely on one another. No man is an island. But live for the others? no way!

yeah i do agree tat i care abt people's opinions/judgments about me. I really do. But y do we need to live up to others' expectations? This is our lives, our own lives. If we do so, we'll only lose ourselves. We might not achieve things tat we reali want for ourselves, instead for others. is that necessary? Well, society plays an important role in shaping our characteristics&behaviours, but there're lotsa factors that contribute to our actions&thoughts. He said tat individualistic is unrealistic & bullshit. i don't think so.

well we behave based on different stuff as we grow older. When we were young, we do or not to do things according to wat our parents said. we won't do things tat might lead our parents to be unhappy, thus we get punished. As we grow older, societal ethics & codes rule us. cus we don't wanna be outcast & punished legally. We don't want others to judge us. the final stage will be the time when we make our own judgments based on our life experiences, deep-thoughts and our own intuition and definition of what is right or wrong. Think as undergrads, we're supposed to be mingling around e final stage. we don't live by wat society would like us to be, but according to our own perception about life! i don't deny tat society rules us but we're supposed to find e balance in individualism & social ethics.

think i seemed to be lil bit too harsh to him just now. but i reali don't like his pessimism & thoughts tat this world is dying in a sense. i want him to see the point tat everything is all in his mind & he deserves to be happier than now. He can control his fate & perception about this world. I know tat he understands reality more than anyone of our ages. Maybe it's something good. But a 20 with 50 years old mind might not be a good idea as he'd miss out so much fun & adventurous things in life. Ignorant might be a bliss in this case. That's y u could see a bubbly&real smile on a baby but not on an adult as the reality ate away his/her truest form of joyfulness.

Easter

that's wat u called as the best place to eat in the world, Taj Mahal. Okay, maybe i'm exaggerating here but it's YUMMY! went there with Zhang, for e business lunch. it's so much worth it! cus they'll give u extra drink ( cup of coffee/tea), pappadum, fried veggies apart from the curry-based food & rice. We were starving @ tat time so we don't talk to each other til e food came, cus we were conserving our energies. Until the food came! :D the funniest thing is tat everything stayed the same as when we were back in JC. taj mahal is just like the swensen's @ bukit batok, where we would order our fave chicken baked rice & gossiped about stuff! i LOVE zhang! she's still e best!

went to gym with adit after micro 2 lecture. :D burned all e fats tat i accumulated from yesterday's & today's mealS. we (carole, santie, tom) went to asian noodles house in Dickson, where e laksa is pretty popular. gosh, i was like, 'hey guys, i'm not gonna eat. cus i'm really full from e lunch i ate.' but in e end, i ordered a char kway teow ( fried rice noodles)!!!!! but don't worry, it's a veggies char kway teow. So i assume tat it's sooo much better choice. & e worst thing is tat we had choc fudge & mcflurry w/ fries from mcD after tat. yes! we're so fat now! but don't worry, we're fat&happy.

& we had a movie night! :D while, we were waiting for tom to come over, we acted like some hish school gals who r having sleep-over. hah! we checked out on tampons tat i got from anu health centre. neither does santi nor i use tat before, so we were like checking tat out & ask carole abt 'it'. we watched lion king! but as usual, i fell asleep. so its hard to describe how e film goes, cus u can say tat i missed tat movie.

& BBQ today! we're gonna have it on campus! :D ^^ yipppiiiee yayyy!

a long day

i'm eatin' 1 of e evil-est food in this world lasagna. i know. when i got off e bus, i was like, 'von-ney, just head straight to home. no no! don't turn to your left, noo!' but in e end, i ended up in Italian Kitchen before i even realised it. Not only tat! I had a strawberry MILKshake @ Degree w/ my newly-made friend, Pey Yee & green tea blended CREAM @ starbucks w/ Carole. & this morning, i had like 6 lamington fingers before uni. Maybe i should just forget the idea of getting slim. Cus I HEART eatin' more than gettin' slim! :D

half of e lasagna is made of cheeeeese ^^ lovin' it!

I went on impulsive shopping spree today. It's not like i need a pair of shorts. but COUNTRY ROAD is on SALE!!!! it was originally $80, but guess wat! it's half-priced.

these few days, i've been doin' lotsa catching up & hanging out with friends, just to find out how the holiday was & have fun time before e exams. anw, i joined ANU gym! & i started on my new job. soon enough, i'll be resumin' piano lesson & volunteering @ disabled home if i got selected. :D 1 of my friend was like, 'u know, there's only 1 you in this world. u can't be everything.' but i just wanna prove tat i can achieve tat! ;) but honestly, sometimes i feel exhausted!

oh yeah! about my new job! I'm a child-carer at 'M' Primary School. It's just like a minute walk away from my home. it's so convenient, isn't it? e kids are really lovely! they're just simply adorable & active. Gosh! i was beat when i got home on my first day. We did dogdeball, pushing, catch&run, Legoes, drawing & singing. My job is fairly simple, just to keep 'em company & wait for their parents to pick 'em up. we've kids from pre-school to year 6. e kids took my hands & pull me. i almost torn into pieces. & some of em will come to hug me or tell me stories. think i really like kids now! i felt tat kids r a nuisance before. but now, honestly i like to work w/ 'em. & i miss those kids in HF ( my ex-workplace in Indo). I hope they're doin' good.

aunt's bday

check out my temporary tattoo!!

naughty lil' devil

aunt's lil bday celebration @ my place

couz, aunt,mum

time flies. it felt like i was in batam a few seconds ago, but here i'm in canbbie! & e best part is, i've been here for almost 3 weeks!

courses that i'm doin' this semester:
1. dynamics of asian business
2. regression modelling
3. microeconomics 2
4. understanding mind, brain & behaviour

of course, nonetheless my fave would be the psychology course. Its a lil' bit too technical but tats e whole point isn't it. The statistics studies is a lil' bit hard for me, we've to use this software thingie called S-plus. anw the lecturer is indeed a funny man! oh my! i love his sarcasm & sense of humour. Microeconomics 2 is taught by the legendary Paul Chen. guess wat, he wore the simpsons' tie for lecture last thurs. How awesome is tat!

Got a new housemate called gary. He's doin' political science & history. How i wish that I've the courage & support from my family to pursue some cool majors! like lingustics for example? so tat i can fake ppl tat i can speak like a million languages!

But u know how Asians' parents are. 'Go get a business or commerce degree & ur future will be bright! :D', 'wat? u r gonna do music? how can u earn a living with tat? I'll disown u!' and then we'll go like, oh crap! no more financial support! how am i gonna get my ipod, car & chicks/hunks? okieee. i'll do business then.
:( but neva mind. chill. i understand their good intention. Just tat they need to know tat business is not for every1. & there're more to life than earning big bucks or fame! no offense*

Watched schindler's list last weekend. It was funny 'though cus i had a few drinks before watchin' it. tipsy + holocaust = no good! but in e end, i fell asleep after an hour & continued it e next day. its based on the true figure of this man called Oskar Schindler who was known as a greedy German bizman. Who knows that he turned out to be a saint and set up factory for Jew refugees. It talked about how he saved a thousand of Jews from the Genocides. At the end, they showed how he regretted about why the hell did he keep all the luxuries. He could save more Jews if only he abandoned his luxurious life. A branded pen could actually save a Jew's life.

And I watched a classic movie 'in the mood for love' by wong-kar-wai. The casts r Tony Leung & Maggie Cheung. Lets forget about the storyline. Cus the style of it is more eye-catching. & the music arrangement with the scenes created an atmosphere tat u'd praise in awe! Wong is famous for his stylish & one of a kind films. Got those movies from Gary.

Last but not least, I bought the one tree hill season 2. I love brooke more than peyton now!

Currently I'm reading Atheis by Achdiat K. Mihardja. It's a indo literature. Kinda refreshing due to its language style ( more like old indo language) , cultural history and the plot. And at e same time im reading Jodi Picoult's the perfect match for 'bedtime story'. :D its abt child-sexual abuse fiction. Jodi picoult is like another Mira W for me. Well check 'em out, so u'll know wat i mean.

check out the brand! 'gay'time!

u'll feel gay-er after u ate it! gay as in happy not e one u r thinking! ;)
